This policy explains what we collect when you visit playbantam.com or join the Bantam pre-sale list, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Bantam is made by Playground 21 Pty Ltd, a game studio based in Australia. We keep this short and specific — we only describe things we actually do.
1. Who we are
Bantam is operated by Playground 21 Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). If you have any question about this policy or your information, email us at hello@playbantam.com and we’ll help.
2. What we collect
In short: your email address (only if you give it to us), plus standard analytics about how the site is used.
Information you give us
- Your email address, when you join the pre-sale / early-access list. That’s the only personal detail we ask you for right now.
- Anything you send us — for example, if you email hello@playbantam.com, we’ll have your message and email address.
Information we collect automatically
Like most websites, when you browse Bantam we automatically collect some technical and usage data through cookies and similar technologies:
- Device and browser type, screen size, and operating system;
- Your approximate location (country/region), derived from your IP address;
- Which pages you view, how long you stay, and how you scroll and interact;
- The link that brought you here, including campaign tags (UTM parameters) if you arrived from one of our ads or emails.
Session recordings and heatmaps
We use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymised sessions and build heatmaps, so we can see where people get stuck or lose interest and improve the page. These recordings capture mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling. Clarity is configured to mask text you type (such as anything entered into a form), so your keystrokes aren’t recorded.
3. The tools we use
In short: we rely on a few well-known providers to send emails and understand our traffic. Most are based in the United States.
We share limited data with these third-party providers so they can do their job for us:

These advertising tools (Google, Meta, and TikTok) may set their own cookies, and may combine what they collect here with data they already hold about you, to measure our ads and show you relevant ones — including remarketing (showing Bantam ads to people who have visited this site). We may also use similar analytics or advertising pixels from other platforms as our marketing grows. Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy; we don’t control how they operate, but we only use providers we consider reputable.
4. How we use your information
- To send you updates about Bantam — pre-sale access, launch news, and behind-the-scenes progress;
- To understand how people use the site so we can make it better;
- To measure whether our ads and emails are working, and to show Bantam ads to relevant people (including people who’ve visited before);
- To respond to you when you get in touch;
- To keep the site secure and prevent misuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for anything unrelated to Bantam.
5. Your consent and choices
We add you to the pre-sale list because you asked to join it. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send, or by emailing hello@playbantam.com — and we’ll remove you.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. You can control personalised advertising in your Google Ad Settings, Meta ad preferences, and the ad settings inside TikTok, or opt out of many advertisers at once via Your Online Choices. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
6. Storing your information overseas
Because the providers listed above are based mainly in the United States, your information may be stored and processed outside Australia. By joining our list or using the site, you understand that your data may be handled overseas under the laws of those countries.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you’re on the pre-sale list. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, we’ll remove it from our active list. Analytics data is retained for a limited period by the providers above (typically up to 14 months for Google Analytics) and is used only in aggregate.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Just email hello@playbantam.com and we’ll action it.
If you’re in the UK or the European Economic Area, you also have rights under the GDPR — including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for sending marketing emails is your consent; for analytics, our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we choose providers that do the same. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security — but we work to keep the little data we hold safe.
10. Children
Bantam is a game for ages 10 and up, but this website and pre-sale list are aimed at adults (the people who buy games). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their details, email us and we’ll delete them.
11. Links to other sites
Our site links to places we don’t control — for example our Instagram, and (in future) a Kickstarter campaign or online store. This policy doesn’t cover those sites, so please check their own privacy policies.
12. Changes to this policy
As Bantam grows — for instance, when we open a store and start taking payments — we’ll update this policy and change the “last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
